ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An Ordinance Revising the "Development Standards and Guidelines," <br /> Pertaining to Signs for the Colby Campus of Providence Regional Medical <br /> Center Everett,Amending Section 13 of Exhibit D of Ordinance No. 2850-05 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds the following: <br /> 1. In 2005, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2850-05, establishing an Institutional <br /> Overlay Zone and Master Plan for the Colby Campus of Providence Everett Medical <br /> Center; and <br /> 2. The Master Plan provided for the expansion of hospital facilities and buildings within the <br /> boundaries of the Institutional Overlay Zone; and <br /> 3. Ordinance No. 2850-05 included Exhibit D,that established the Development Standards <br /> and Guidelines that apply to all development for the hospital and related uses; and <br /> 4. Section 13 of Exhibit D of Ordinance No. 2850-05 pertains to sign standards for the <br /> Colby Campus and reads as follows: <br /> 13. Integration of signs with architecture <br /> Intent: <br /> To ensure that signage is part of the overall design of a project and not additive or an <br /> afterthought. <br /> Guidelines: <br /> • Sign category"C" applies except for the following guidelines. <br /> • The design of buildings and site plans shall identify locations and sizes for future <br /> signs. <br /> • An overall sign program for the hospital shall be established and approved by the <br /> Planning Director. The sign program shall indicate location, size and general <br /> design. <br /> • Signs shall not project above the roof, parapet, or exterior wall. <br /> • Signs shall be oriented to pedestrians. <br /> • No flashing, blinking or electric message signs. <br /> • One sign per street, other than directional signs. Directional signs include <br /> building signs to identify the building. <br /> 8 <br />
