April 15, 2017 <br /> The City Council Retreat began at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, in <br /> the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore Historic City Hall. <br /> Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, <br /> Franklin, Bader, Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Facilitator <br /> Margaret Norton-Arnold was also present. <br /> WELCOME AND RETREAT OVERVIEW <br /> Facilitator Norton-Arnold announced the goals for the day were to review <br /> three identified topics within the City: Safe Streets, South Everett, and <br /> Civic Engagement. She stated staff would be presenting about each topic, <br /> and from there, discussion and brainstorming would ensue for developing <br /> an action plan, which Facilitator Norton-Arnold would prepare following the <br /> Retreat. <br /> SAFE STREETS INITIATIVE <br /> Safe Streets Initiative <br /> Presented by Hil Kaman and Meghan Pembroke, <br /> Administration <br /> Discussion ensued regarding scattered versus site-based housing; the <br /> need for more housing types; involving stakeholder and neighborhood <br /> groups; expanding the clean-up program; the overall costs of these <br /> projects, including regular reporting; and not duplicating the efforts already <br /> provided by other agencies and groups. <br /> The Council Retreat recessed for a short break at 9:23 a.m. and <br /> reconvened at 9:34 a.m. <br /> SOUTH EVERETT <br /> South Everett <br /> Presented by Paul Kaftanski, Administration, and Dan <br /> Templeman, Everett Police Department <br /> 124 <br />
