Nothing contained in this code is intended to be nor <br /> shall be construed to create or form the basis for any <br /> liability on the part of the City, or its officers, <br /> employees or agents, for any injury or damage resulting <br /> from the failure of a building to comply with the <br /> provisions of this Code, or by reason or in consequence <br /> of any inspection, notice, order, certificate, <br /> permission or approval authorized or issued or done in <br /> connection with the implementation or enforcement of <br /> this Code, or by reason of any action or inaction on <br /> the part of the City related in any manner to the <br /> enforcement of this Code by its officers, employees or <br /> agents. <br /> Notwithstanding any language used in this Code, it is <br /> not the intent of this Code to create a duty and/or <br /> cause of action running to any individual or <br /> identifiable person but rather any duty is intended to <br /> run only to the general public. <br /> B. Section 203 of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of <br /> Dangerous Buildings, 1991 Edition, is hereby amended by the <br /> addition of the following: <br /> Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision <br /> of this Code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor <br /> and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a <br /> fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1, 000) or by <br /> imprisonment in jail not to exceed ninety (90) days, or <br /> both fine and imprisonment. Each separate day or any <br /> portion thereof, during which any violation of this <br /> Code occurs or continues, shall be deemed to constitute <br /> a separate offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall <br /> be punishable as herein provided. The issuance or <br /> granting of a permit or approval of plans and <br /> specifications shall not be deemed or construed to be a <br /> permit for, or an approval of, any violation of this <br /> Code. No permit presuming to give authority to violate <br /> or cancel the provisions of this Code shall be valid, <br /> except insofar as the work or use which it authorized <br /> is lawful . <br /> C. Section 205 (a) of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of <br /> Dangerous Buildings, 1991 Edition, is hereby amended by <br /> deleting: <br /> Board of Appeals <br /> Section 205 . (a) General.
