*41 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1884-92 EL d ETT <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1991 <br /> Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code and <br /> repealing Ordinance No. 1611-89 . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett <br /> Mechanical Code. " <br /> SECTION 2 : The Uniform Mechanical Code, together with Appendices <br /> A, B and C as published by the International Conference of <br /> Building Officials, as amended by WAC 51-22 , being particularly <br /> the 1991 Editions thereof and the whole thereof, save and except <br /> such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended <br /> are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as fully <br /> as if set out at length herein. <br /> SECTION 3 : Amendments Made in the Uniform Mechanical Code. <br /> A. Section 102 of the 1991 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical <br /> Code is hereby amended by deleting: <br /> Sec. 102 . The purpose of this code is to provide <br /> minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, <br /> property and public welfare by regulating and <br /> controlling the design, construction, installation, <br /> quality of materials, location, operation, and <br /> maintenance or use of heating, ventilating, cooling, <br /> refrigeration systems, incinerators, and other <br /> miscellaneous heat-producing appliances within this <br /> jurisdiction. <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> It is expressly the purpose of the Code to provide for <br /> and promote the health, safety and welfare of the <br /> general public and not to create or otherwise establish <br /> or designate any particular class or group of persons <br /> who will or should be especially protected or benefited <br /> by the terms of this Code. <br />
