"G" Terms <br /> Garage means an accessory building, designed or used for the shelter <br /> or storage of vehicles owned or operated by the occupants of the <br /> principal building. <br /> Garage. private attached means a portion of the principal building <br /> which is attached by a common wall or substantial roof structure to <br /> the principal dwelling designed or used for the storage or shelter of <br /> vehicles owned or operated by the occupants of the principal <br /> building. <br /> Geologically hazardous areas means areas susceptible to erosion, <br /> landsliding, earthquake, or other geological events. <br /> Geologist means a person who has earned a degree in geology from a <br /> college or university, or who has equivalent training with practical <br /> experience that includes at least two years works in applied geology <br /> and landslide evaluation, in close association with <br /> geotechnical/civil engineers, one year of which shall have been in <br /> the Pacific Northwest. <br /> Geotechnical Engineer means a practicing geotechnical/civil engineer <br /> licensed as a professional Civil Engineer with the State of <br /> Washington who has a least four years of professional employment as a <br /> geotechnical engineer in responsible charge, including experience <br /> with landslide evaluation. <br /> Grade means the elevation of a lot prior to development. <br /> Grade, finished means the elevation of a lot after completion of <br /> development. <br /> Grading means any excavating, filling, or clearing of land or any <br /> combination thereof. <br /> Gross floor area means the sum of the gross horizontal areas of the <br /> floors of a building or buildings, measured from exterior faces of <br /> exterior walls, and from the centerline of common walls. Gross floor <br /> area shall include: basement space, elevator shafts and stairwell at <br /> each floor, mechanical equipment rooms or attic spaces with headroom <br /> of seven feet six inches or more, penthouse floors, interior <br /> balconies and mezzanines, and enclosed porches. Gross floor area <br /> shall not include: accessory water tanks and cooling towers, <br /> mechanical equipment rooms or attic spaces with headroom of less than <br /> seven feet six inches, exterior steps or stairs, terraces, <br /> breezeways, and open spaces. <br /> Ground sign means a freestanding sign that is five (5) feet or less <br /> in height. <br /> ! 2 <br />
