Lot width means the horizontal distance between side lot lines <br /> measured at right angles to the lot depth at a point midway between <br /> the front and rear lot lines. <br /> M. "M" Terms <br /> Manufacturing means the process of transforming materials or <br /> substances into new products using chemical or mechanical processes. <br /> Marquee means a permanent roof-like structure or canopy of rigid <br /> material supported by and extending from the facade of a building. <br /> Marsh means an area permanently inundated by water less than six feet <br /> deep and occupied predominantly by an emergent wetland vegetation <br /> community. <br /> Medical related activities means uses that are closely related to <br /> clinic and hospital uses, including but not limited to, pharmacies, <br /> retail sales of durable medical goods, medical or dental laboratories <br /> and emergency ambulance services. <br /> Mitigation means the use of any or all of the following actions: <br /> a. Avoiding the impact altogether by not taking a certain action or <br /> parts of an action; <br /> b. Minimizing impacts by limiting the degree or magnitude or the <br /> action and its implementation, by using appropriate technology, <br /> or by taking affirmative steps to avoid or reduce impacts; <br /> c. Rectifying the impact by repairing, rehabilitating or restoring <br /> the affected environmentally sensitive area; <br /> d. Reducing or eliminating the impact over time by preservation or <br /> maintenance operations during the life of the development <br /> proposal; <br /> e. Compensating for the impact by replacing or enhancing substitute <br /> environmentally sensitive areas. <br /> Mobilehome park means a lot where two or more mobilehomes are used <br /> for dwelling purposes. <br /> Monitoring means the collection and analysis of data by various <br /> methods for the purposes of understanding and documenting changes in <br /> natural systems and features, and including gathering baseline data, <br /> evaluating the impacts of development proposals on the biological, <br /> hydrologic and geologic elements of such systems, and assessing the <br /> performance of required mitigation measures. <br /> Monument sign means a freestanding sign higher than five (5) feet <br /> above grade which is attached to the ground by means of a wide base. <br /> Motel means a building providing transient lodging with parking <br /> conveniently located to each unit, which may also include incidental <br /> uses such as meeting rooms, restaurants, etc. <br /> Multiple Family Dwelling - See "Dwelling.
