4 . Category IV Wetlands (Ordinary Resource Value) . "Category <br /> IV Wetlands" means wetlands that are hydrologically <br /> isolated; have an area less than or equal to one acre; <br /> contain one vegetation class, 80 percent of which is <br /> dominated by one or more of the species listed below: <br /> Common Name Scientific Name <br /> Small-fruited bulrush Scirpus microcarpus <br /> Hard hack spirea Spirea douglasii <br /> Purple loosestrife Lythrum salicaria <br /> Townsend's cordgrass Spartina townsendii <br /> Canada thistle Cirsium arvense <br /> Himalayan blackberry Rubus discolor <br /> Reed canary grass Phalaris arundinacea <br /> Velvet grass Holcus lanatus <br /> Foxtail Alopecurus pratensis <br /> Soft rush Juncus effusus <br /> Reed Phragmites communis <br /> Orchard grass Dactylis glomerata <br /> Buttercup Ranunculus repens <br /> Colonial Bent Grass Agrostis tenuis <br /> Redtop Agrostis alba <br /> Section 10: Standard Wetland Buffer Width Requirements. <br /> A. Standard Buffer Width. The following minimum buffers of native <br /> vegetation shall apply to wetlands based upon the wetland <br /> category. Buffers shall be measured from the wetland boundary <br /> delineated as required by Paragraph A of Section 9 of this <br /> Ordinance. If the designated buffer contains significant <br /> vegetation with driplines extending beyond the edge of the <br /> buffer, the buffer shall be extended to five (5) feet beyond the <br /> outside edge of the dripline. For purposes of this Section, <br /> "significant vegetation" means a healthy evergreen tree, 10 <br /> inches in diameter or greater, measured 4 .5 feet above existing <br /> grade. <br /> 1 . Category I 100 feet <br /> 2. Category II 75 feet <br /> 3 . Category III 50 feet <br /> 4. Category IV 25 feet <br /> B. Required Fencing, Signs. <br /> 1 . A temporary construction fence shall be placed along the <br /> construction setback line to prevent encroachment during <br /> construction. The City may require any development proposed <br /> on a lot which contains or adjoins a wetland to provide a <br /> fence or other structural protection at the edge of the <br /> wetland buffer to minimize encroachment into and disturbance <br /> of the wetland and buffer area after construction. <br /> 13 <br />
