"Wetlands, isolated" means those wetlands which: <br /> a. are outside of and not contiguous to any 100 year floodplain <br /> or riparian corridor of a lake, river, or stream; and <br /> b. have no contiguous hydric soil or surface water connection <br /> between the wetland and another surface water body. <br /> Section 70: Section 4 .020.A of Ordinance 1671-89, is amended by the <br /> addition of the following: <br /> "Wetlands, regulated" means those lands defined as wetlands under <br /> the Federal Clean Water Act, 33 u.s.c. Sec. 1251 et seq. , and <br /> rules promulgated thereto, and includes those areas that are <br /> inundated or saturated by surface or ground water at a frequency <br /> and duration sufficient to support, and under normal <br /> circumstances do support, a prevalence of vegetation typically <br /> adapted for life in saturated soil conditions. Regulated <br /> wetlands generally include swamps, marshes, ponds, bogs and <br /> similar areas. Wetlands created as mitigation and wetlands <br /> modified for approved land use activities shall be considered as <br /> regulated wetlands. <br /> Section 71: Section 4.020.A of Ordinance 1671-89, is amended by the <br /> addition of the following: <br /> "Wetlands, scrub-shrub" means a regulated wetland that does not <br /> qualify as a forested wetland with at least 30 percent of its <br /> surface area covered by woody vegetation less than twenty feet in <br /> height as the uppermost strata. <br /> Section 72: Subsection 4.020.A.56 of Ordinance 1671-89, which <br /> reads: <br /> "Enhancement" means an action which increases the functions and <br /> values of a stream or wetland. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> "Enhancement" means an action which increases the functions and <br /> values of a stream or wetland or terrestrial ecosystem. <br /> Section 73: Subsection 4.020.A.58 of Ordinance 1671-89, which <br /> reads: <br /> "Environmentally Sensitive Areas" means any of those areas of the <br /> City which are subject to natural hazards or those landform <br /> features which carry, hold, or purify water and support unique, <br /> fragile valuable natural resources including fish, wildlife, and <br /> other organisms and their habitat. Sensitive Areas include the <br /> following landform features: erosion hazard areas; landslide <br /> hazard areas; seismic hazard areas; steep slope hazard areas; <br /> wetlands; streams; flood hazard areas and their buffers. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> "Environmentally Sensitive Areas" means any of those areas of the <br /> City which are subject to natural hazards or those landform <br /> 43 <br />
