RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION for Expenditure of Neighborhood Project Funds <br /> WHEREAS,the neighborhood associations in Everett are composed of active residents who <br /> work many volunteer hours to improve the quality of life in our City: and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett's Office of Neighborhoods provides matching funds to support <br /> projects conducted by neighborhood associations to enhance city life and beautify our city; and <br /> WHEREAS, two Large Project Grants were recommended by City and citizen review teams for <br /> approval in August 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, neighborhood residents and businesses have promised pledges of more than <br /> $ 34,517 to match the requests of$20,203 in requested City funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the city of Everett benefits from active resident involvement through neighborhood <br /> enhancement projects; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with each of the listed <br /> neighborhood associations in the amount specified for the purpose stated: <br /> 1) Lowell Civic Association—Red Barn Community Farm for$14,993 <br /> 2) South Forest Park Neighborhood Association—Community Garden Project-for <br /> $5,210 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with each <br /> of the listed neighborhood associations for expenses incurred for the above purposes,not to <br /> exceed the individual amount for each association,between Sept 15,2011, and Sept 14, 2012. <br /> Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br /> Passed and approved this day of <br /> Council President <br /> 38 <br />
