Empty PVC utility conduit crossings were added to the <br /> streets that were being rebuilt with new cement concrete pavement. The streets of Bell&Snohomish <br /> Avenues, 34th Street to 35th Street,Tulalip Avenue from Niles Avenue to 35th Street and Niles Avenue <br /> from Tulalip Avenue to Laurel Drive are locations where the utility conduit crossings were installed. <br /> This was done in order to prevent future trenching and patching of new cement concrete pavement <br /> surfacing, should neighborhood residents want to change from overhead to underground power, <br /> telephone and cable services. The residents on 3400 block of Bell Avenue decided to do that and have <br /> coordinated with the City sewer project to install additional PVC conduit at their cost. <br /> Bid Item#088—Perforated Drain Pipe with Drain Rock. Perforated drain pipes with drain rock <br /> were added behind the back of sidewalk in many locations along Bell,Tulalip,Niles Avenues and <br /> along 34th Street, in order to capture the surface and ground water runoff. <br /> Schedule 4,work order 30024 (Justification Continued) <br /> Bid Item#082—Cement Concrete Pavement Alternate. The roadway of Tulalip Avenue from 331d <br /> street to 34th Street was added to the contract to construct cement concrete pavement alternate roadway <br /> section, in-lieu-of,the original anticipated patched concrete pavement approach. <br /> New schedule 5,new work order 30025 (Justification Continued) • <br /> Bid Item#002—Surveying. This bid item is being used to survey the existing street surfaces of upper <br /> and lower Laurel Drive at repeated stations in order to record the widths and elevations of said <br /> surfaces. This will allow them to be re-installed back to similar elevations and widths. Street widths <br /> on upper and lower Laurel Drive vary between 14' to 17' wide. <br /> Bid Item#003—Traffic Control Labor.This bid item is being used to pay for added labor for traffic <br /> control to complete the street restoration work of upper and lower Laurel Drive. <br /> Bid Item#004—Maintenance&Protection of Traffic Control. This bid item is being used to pay <br /> for the added maintenance &protection of traffic control signage involved in the street restoration <br /> work of upper and lower Laurel Drive. <br /> Bid Item#006—Sawcut Pavement,Up to 6-inch thickness. This bid item is being used to pay for <br /> the added saw cutting of pavement involved in the street restoration work of upper and lower Laurel <br /> Drive. <br /> Bid Item#054—Concrete Inlet. Two inlets are being added to new schedule 5, as part of the street <br /> restoration work on upper Laurel Drive, and an additional inlet on lower 33rd Street where in turns into <br /> Vernon Avenue,to help control surface water runoff. <br /> Bid Item#056—Storm Drain Pipe, 8-inch SDR 35 PVC. This storm drain pipe is being added to <br /> new schedule 5,part of the restoration work on upper Laurel Drive, to help control surface water <br /> runoff, and 90 linear feet location along the west side of Vernon Avenue to handle ground water <br /> runoff. <br /> Page6of8 45 <br />
