Law <br /> enforcement officers utilize many of the services provided by Dawson Place, including specialized child <br /> interviewers. The Child Interview Specialists at Dawson Place interview child victims of sexual assault and <br /> physical abuse, document these interviews, assist detectives on assigned cases, work with victims' families, <br /> assist investigators, testify in court, and provided quarterly reports and statistical data. The previous <br /> agreement regarding use of Dawson Place Child Interview Specialists split the costs between the City and <br /> Snohomish County. Under this new Agreement, 14 law enforcement agencies within the County who use <br /> these interview services will share in compensating Dawson Place for these services. The City is obligated to <br /> pay $14,664.71 in 2012, for its share of the expenses. The City's share for years 2013 and 2014 will be <br /> recalculated based upon the number of interviews performed for the City combined with the previous year's <br /> June to June Seattle, Tacoma,Bremerton CPI-W,not to exceed 3%. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Snohomish County and Snohomish <br /> County Child Advocacy Center d/b/a Dawson Place relating to Child Interview Specialist Services. <br /> 31 <br />
