Pursuit of Federal Finding: <br /> O Transportation funding advocacy for: <br /> o Programmatic modifications to improve the competitiveness of City priority <br /> improvements including: interchange modifications and improvements, freight <br /> routes, bridges,pedestrian and bicycle ways, HOV lanes,safety improvements,. <br /> community character and preservation projects as available in annual <br /> transportation appropriations and reauthorization of the SAFETEA-LU <br /> Transportation Act with attention to I-5 and U.S. Highway 2 corridors and freight <br /> mobility. <br /> o Everett Transit Division capital requests funded via Section 5309 allocations <br /> within the Transportation Appropriations for Federal Transit Administration <br /> (FTA) bus/paratransit vehicle acquisition. <br /> O Utilities and Infrastructure: <br /> o Support legislative requests and funding for water line construction to the Tulalip <br /> Tribes Reservation as per the City of Everett and The Tulalip Tribes Agreement <br /> of September 16, 2005.The Tulalip Tribes/City of Everett agreement provides the <br /> framework for water delivery to the Tribe for its Reservation use, including <br /> fisheries,mutual financial contributions to the construction of a pipeline, and a <br /> pledge of cooperation in obtaining funding for the pipeline construction. <br /> o Bond St. CSO Project: As mandated by the federal government the City is <br /> required to have construction completed by the end of 2014. <br /> • Grant advocacy for parks, land use and the environment, law enforcement,domestic <br /> violence,homeland security, economic development,higher education, human services, <br /> and other city programs,projects, and services as may arise. <br /> O Identify opportunities for competitive non-transportation federal funding for the City of <br /> Everett in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; Energy and Water Bill; Nater <br /> Resources Development Act;Transportation, Housing and Urban Development and <br /> Related Agencies;Interior, Labor, Health, and Human Services Bill; Rail Security; and <br /> Department of Justice. <br /> II.NAVAL STATION EVERET T: <br /> O The Service Provider will assist the City gain and maintain access to key Congressional, <br /> Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, <br /> U.S. Navy,U.S. Coast Guard, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration <br /> decision makers as the community addresses changing missions, new tenants and joint <br /> use of Naval Station Everett. <br /> Page 9 <br /> McBee Professional Services Agreement <br /> 42 <br />
