1 <br /> L. Naming of new streets during the platting or other land use process need not <br /> follow this policy. This policy shall be used for changing the name of existing <br /> streets. Attention should be paid to maintaining sequential,numerical, alphabetical <br /> and historical naming patterns when considering any street name changes. <br /> M. Historical names placed on designated landmarks in recognition of specific <br /> person, such as the"Culmback"building,listed on the Everett Register of Historical <br /> Places,the Washington State Register of Historic Places and the National Register of <br /> Historic Places should not be changed absent exceptional circumstances. A more <br /> • generic name, such as"Fire Station#3"that is listed on an historic register may be <br /> renamed pursuant to this policy. <br /> Section 5: Council Action. The City Council, after consideration of the criteria in <br /> Section 4 and public comment, may elect to name or rename any City building, public <br /> place, facility or natural feature or rename a street contrary to the criteria in Section 4 if <br /> they feel there is sufficient reason to take such action. Such action by Council shall be by <br /> resolution. <br /> Section 6: Repealer.
