• <br /> 2. Planning and budgeting so that each in-service pumper <br /> within the City is equipped as an emergency aid vehicle, in <br /> addition to necessary fire suppression equipment, as <br /> required by this ordinance. <br /> 3. Developing a response pattern within the City which <br /> maximizes the use of the Emergency Aid Cars and minimizes <br /> initial response time in a coordinated manner using the EAC <br /> vehicles and the fire pumpers. <br /> 4. The EAC vehicles and the fire pumpers shall be utilized to <br /> provide emergency medical care at the scene of injury or <br /> illness and may provide transportation of the sick and <br /> injured. <br /> SECTION 13: Ambulance Contract. <br /> The Mayor or his designee, may enter into an annual agreement with one or <br /> more primary ambulance companies and one or more secondary ambulance <br /> companies. The Medical Director is authorized to periodically audit for <br /> timeliness of response of the primary and secondary companies. Further, <br /> failure to comply with the time requirements provided in this ordinance, <br /> failure to comply with the provisions of this ordinance, failure to provide <br /> adequate care in the opinion of the Medical Director or the providing of <br /> general poor service in the opinion of the Medical Director shall constitute <br /> a basis for terminating any contract. <br /> SECTION 14: Training. <br /> A. All training of persons in the City of Everett for emergency <br /> medical care, except as provided in accredited medical programs, shall be <br /> reviewed by the Medical Director. Certification of instructors for <br /> emergency medical care shall be done in the manner and method as determined <br /> by the EMS Service of the State of Washington for Basic First Aid, Advanced <br /> First Aid, EMT and EMTA Training. <br /> B. All persons who intend to teach, instruct or otherwise train <br /> persons in emergency medical care and who are working for the City of <br /> Everett shall be approved by the Medical Director. <br /> SECTION 15: Penalties. <br /> A. Any person violating or failing to comply with any provision of <br /> this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. The fine may not <br /> 8 <br />
