Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is greater than the base salary provided in the schedule contained in this ordinance shall continue to receive the previous base pay; salaries not covered by collective bargaining will be set per the compensation ordinance. B. Ranges prefaced by 'P' are established by the City Council in accordance with the City Charter of Everett. C. Range numbers prefaced by 'D' or 'R' are considered to be the minimum, mid-point and maximum salary ranges within which the Mayor may set the salary to be paid to employees covered by the compensation ordinance. Section 4: A. Day laborers employed by the City will be rated by their qualifications, experience, nature of duties and background, and compensated at a minimum of no less than the current minimum wage. B. The Mayor and/or his designee together with each Department Head employing day laborers shall establish the rate of pay based on the qualifications, experience, nature of duties and background of each day laborer employee. C. In the case of Library day laborer or Library page employees, the Library Board together with the Library Director shall establish the rate of pay based on the qualifications, experience and background of each library day laborer employee or Library page employee. D. The administrative salary codes for day laborers and Library pages will be as follows: 010 Day Laborer Category I 020 Day Laborer Category II 030 Day Laborer Category III 040 Day Laborer/Work Study 050 Library Page 060 Day Laborer/Student 070 Day Laborer/Lead Seasonal Parks Section 5: A. There is hereby adopted as part of this salary schedule, longevity pay for those employees who are covered under AP9CME Loral 113, Everett Firefighters Local 350, Everett Police Officers Association, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 883 and the Northwest Washington Building and Construction Trades Council per their respective collective bargaining agreements. B. Longevity pay shall not be paid to appointive employees, public officials, temporary employees or day laborers.
