City of Everett I March 12,2012 Page 3
■ GeoEngineers staff attending this meeting will include our project manager and principal in
charge of the project.
Deliverables
• Meeting notes from the kickoff meeting.
■ Review comments on the City's survey and base map.
TASK 2 - GEOMORPHIC ASSESSMENT
GeoEngineers will perform a geomorphic field reconnaissance of tributary channel from the confluence
with Powder Mill Gulch to upstream of the culvert crossing. The primary purpose of this task will be
identify additional knickpoints that could migrate into the project reach and to determine an estimated
scour depth or channel elevation to assist in the development of stream stabilization measures. The field
reconnaissance will also serve to acquaint the design team to the site. From prior phases of this project
much work has already been doneto evaluate the historic and current geomorphic conditions of the
tributary channel and this task is intended to build upon prior phases of this project. As part of this task
GeoEngineers will complete the following:
• Characterize baseline geomorphic conditions;
• Document areas of active channel incision and bank erosion;
• Qualitative assessment of principle factor/factors controlling project area channel incision and
bank erosion;
■ Estimation of potential scour depth or channel elevation within the project reach;and
• Assessment of future downstream channel responses resulting from the channel
restoration/stabilization project.
is Recommend stability measures for support of adjacent land.
Assumptions
is City staff will obtain land owner agreements and access to the project reach for conducting field
reconnaissance where private property must be crossed.
Deliverables
■ Text to be included in the Draft/Final Basis of Design report outlining key findings from site visit,
review of pertinent data, and understanding of dominant channel processes, and estimates of
potential scour depth.
• Photos documenting locations of interest.
TASK 3 -SLOPE STABILITY ASSESSMENT
GeoEngineers will use the results of previous geotechnical consultation and slope stability analyses within
the project reach and provide recommendations for long term slope stabilization measures. The primary
purpose of this task will be to utilize the survey and base map elevations and coordinate with the design
team to develop slope stabilization measures that may be incorporated into the stream stabilization
design. We anticipate our geotechnical services will include the following tasks:
• Refine slope stability analyses using the new survey data;
Q/ GEOENGINEERI
3
Ale No.0661-086-02 `t
