5 City of Everett ! March 12,2012 Page 5
evaluation of existing conditions, the stabilization concept will be reflected in the hydraulic model by
modifying the existing or baseline model to reflect the with-project or proposed conditions.
Assumptions
■ No FEMA floodplain regulatory modeling or submittals will be performed.
Deliverables
• Text and supporting appendices to be included in the Draft/Final Basis of Design report outlining
methods, key assumptions and results of the hydraulic modeling.
TASK 5- DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
GeoEngineers will prepare design plans, specifications, and cost estimate to support a public bid process
and construction of stream stabilization measures within the project reach during the fall of 2012.
Thurogh City reviews and feedback will be incorporated into the documents at 30 percent design and
90 percent design to achieve the project schedule. The proposed project schedule calls for submitting
90 percent design documents by June 11, 2012 and is contigent upon having authization of the SOS by
March 16,2012 and topographic survey of the project area by April 2, 2012.
Using the results of geomorphic, geotechnical, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses, we will meet with the
City to review identified project alternatives. Preliminary information for a minimum of three (3) project
alternatives will be presented by Geoengineers at this meeting in a draft technical memorandum. For
each alternative, Geoengineers will present a hand sketch on 11x17 site map, permitting implications,
construction schedule implications, future maintenance requirements, long term stability, and cost
considerations. The intent of the meeting will be to select the preferred alternative. The intent of this
meeting will be to select the preferred alternative from the provided information. Based on the preferred
alternative selected at this meeting, GeoEngineers will prepare conceptual (30 percent) design drawings
and Basis of Design report documenting methods, results, recommendations, and assumptions from prior
tasks that form the basis for the stream stabilization design plans. The conceptual design will be suitable
to form the basis of the permitting package. Plan drawings will be provided in 11x17-in half-size format
and will include the following sheets:
■ Title Sheet
■ General Notes
■ Existing Conditions(2 sheets)
■ Final Grading Plans(2 sheets)
■ Proposed Channel Sections(2 sheets)
• Proposed Channel Profile(2 sheets)
• Details(4 sheets)
■ Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Plans(TESC) (2 sheets)
■ Planting(4 sheets)
Upon approval of the conceptual designs, GeoEngineers will prepare draft final (90 percent), and bid-
ready (100 percent) design plans, specifications, and cost estimate for the project to facilitate a public
3 GEOENGINEERQ
File No.0661-086-02 6
