Project Overview: The plant expansion has two major process components:
Liquid Stream and Solids Handling. Each process by itself would require a
lengthy construction period for equipment to be procured and delivered, for
facilities to be constructed, for electrical and hydraulic systems to be updated,
and finally for connections between both processes to be completed. Both
the Liquid Stream and Solids Handling are currently at 30 percent design. In
order to meet both schedule and budget requirements, the City has separated
the project into two phases: Phase Cl (Liquid Stream) and Phase C2 (Solids
Handling). The final design will proceed first on Phase Cl, and then will be
followed by final design on Phase C2. The schedule shown below provides
more detail regarding timing of each phase.
This project requires the GC/CM's participation during the design phase due
to the complexity of construction sequencing, the need for continued
operation of the plant during construction, and timely equipment procurement
and delivery.
City of Everett Page 4 April 16, 2012
Water Pollution Control Facility Expansion-Phase C 7
