Description of Public Service Programs Recommended for <br /> Community Development Block Grant Funding in 2012 3 <br /> 1. Community Health Center of Snohomish County <br /> The Community Health Center is a non-profit clinic providing on-site medical and dental care to low <br /> income people who do not have the health insurance or other resources to pay for health care <br /> through private physicians. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $17,000.00 <br /> 2. Everett Family YMCA- Child Care for Low Income Parents <br /> CDBG funds will be used for the YMCA's child care program to meet the growing need for infant care <br /> for low-income families. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $7,500.00 <br /> 3. Pilchuck Area Council of Camp Fire, Inc. - Camp ships <br /> The funds will provide financial assistance to low income children to attend Camp Killoqua in the <br /> summer of 2012. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $3,000.00 <br /> 4. Imagine Children's Museum —Imaginate Program <br /> The Children's Museum will provide a summer enrichment program for low-income Hispanic/Latino <br /> children. The program will help the children develop skills to overcome the enormous challenges <br /> they face, which are largely a result of their language barriers and economic status. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $4,500.00 <br /> 5. Assistance League of Everett— Operation School Bell <br /> The goal of this program is to ensure that homeless children and children living in poverty have <br /> adequate school clothing and hygiene supplies. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $10,500.00 <br /> 6. Schack Arts Center—Art Glass Training <br /> Will allow youth from low/mod families to participate in glass blowing and kilnformed glass training. <br /> Sessions run four to six weeks and are to help effectively change the way youth see themselves. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $2,000.00 <br /> 9 <br />
