Description of Other Projects Recommended for <br /> Community Development Block Grant and other funding sources in 2012 <br /> 1. Everett Gospel Mission —Women's Shelter Improvements <br /> The Everett Gospel Mission will use these funds to replace worn out flooring in the Women's Shelter <br /> in order to increase capacity by 22%. <br /> Recommended 2012 - 2060 Funds: $30,500.00 <br /> 2. Snohomish County Human Services <br /> Weatherization-Related Minor Home Repair <br /> The Snohomish County Department of Human Services, through the low-income weatherization and <br /> repair program, will provide minor home repair services to low-income homeowners in Everett who <br /> are also receiving weatherization services. The provision of minor home repair services will allow <br /> the weatherization program to more completely weatherize a home or to solve health and safety <br /> concerns found within the home. This program will have oversight from the CHIP program. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funds: $10,000.00 <br /> 3. Senior Services of Snohomish County - Minor Home Repair <br /> This program provides for the provision of minor and emergency repairs to lower income elderly and <br /> handicapped homeowners citywide. Minor Home Repair fills a serious gap in housing rehabilitation <br /> for persons requiring emergency and minor home repairs. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funds: $70,918.55 <br /> 4. Domestic Violence Services—Oswald Center Rehabilitation <br /> These funds will be used for costs related to the rehabilitation of the Oswald Army Reserve Center <br /> located at 1110 Rainier. The Center will become a domestic violence shelter with a day care , <br /> service and administrative space. <br /> Recommended 2012 - CDBG funds: $100,000.00 <br /> Recommended 2012 - 2060 funds: 552,441.04 <br /> Total Recommended Funding $152,441.04 <br /> 5. CHIP - Community Housing Improvement Program Administration <br /> CHIP provides housing rehabilitation services and loans to residents of Everett. Rehabilitation <br /> services (loan processing, preparation of bid specifications, selection and monitoring of contractors) <br /> are provided to homeowners and landlords whose property is located within the program <br /> boundaries. A variety of loans (conventional, guaranteed, reduced interest, and deferred payment) <br /> are available to homeowners based on income. Due to accounting changes required by HUD all <br /> funding is put into Fund 197 and is used for administration and rehabilitation projects. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funds: $245,000.00 <br /> 12 <br />
