Housing Social Services provides for a regular on-site service coordinator at federally funded, 3 <br /> subsidized housing for senior and disabled residents. They are trained to recognize social and. <br /> health needs and to help residents to obtain services quickly and effectively. This forms a link to the <br /> service network in order to prevent premature or unwarranted institutionalization. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $4,500.00 <br /> 14. Snohomish County—Senior Peer Counseling Program <br /> The Senior Peer Counseling Program uses trained and supervised senior volunteers to provide <br /> supportive counseling to other seniors facing difficult life challenges. These challenges include loss <br /> of loved ones and friends, health problems, retirement, relocation, loss of mobility, and other <br /> changes associated with aging. These issues often lead to depression, isolation and anxiety. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $2,000.00 <br /> 15. Catholic Community Services - Volunteer Program Services <br /> This program will reimburse the transportation costs of volunteers providing services to clients <br /> residing within the city of Everett. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $2,250.00 <br /> 16. Housing Hope—College of Hope <br /> CDBG funds will be used for the provision of life skills and employment training for homeless and at- <br /> risk households. The College of Hope program has been developed through a four-agency <br /> partnership designed to help homeless families secure compensation in key areas essential to self- <br /> sufficiency. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $10,000.00 <br /> 17. Domestic Violence Services (formerly the Center for Battered Women) <br /> Domestic Violence Services provides counseling and shelter for victims of domestic violence. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Funding $13,500.00 <br /> 18. Boys and Girls Clubs of Snohomish County - Scholarships <br /> This program provides scholarships to low-income children to participate in the Everett Boy's and <br /> Girl's Clubs activities throughout the year. <br /> Recommended 2012 CDBG Fund: $7,526.45 <br /> 11 <br />
