Motion Carried. 7:26:05 PM Commissioner Olivers noted for the record tha' e does have some experience with the ownership and management of City owned utility properties nd his experience is that the Utilities Department never succeeded in getting rid of any property tha 'he community found a use for. So to the extent that they can build their facilities if the remainder of he vast majority of this property remains in an undeveloped and open and available state, it will prob. aly be that way forever. Staff will provide additional inform ion at the Planning Commission meeting. 7:29:00 PM Mr. Giffen, Planning staff, referred to the m o that was distributed to Commissioners with the map of the study area shown on the back and state that City Council President Gipson asked staff about older buildings that do not have adequate parki He wanted to know if they can be changed to another use without applying the code as strictly as it ould normally apply if the building were new. City Council President Gipson asked if that area.on H itt could be included in the B-3 zone where there is no off street parking requirement for non-resi ential uses. Staff suggested a code amendment instead of the more complex process of a comprehe ive plan amendment and rezone. In response to the request, the City' raffic Engineering Department is conducting an inventory and review of on-street parking use to s if an amendment as proposed would have a negative impact on Planning Commission Meeting Minut Page 9 March 6,2012
