If the Commission initiates consideration of the requested amendment, it is not a commi ent to support the amendment. The purpose is to begin a process where the City can get the ame dment to a public notification and review of property owners in the area. In the meantime,the City c n complete the analysis, and begin review of redevelopment potential along that part of the corridor With the adoption of the Downtown Plan in 2006,the City removed the off street parking requireme s for non-residential uses which encouraged the reuse of buildings in downtown core. Commissioner Sand seconded the motion. Chair Sosin asked if there were any question Commissioner Sand asked if there were any specific projects that initiated the request. Mr. Giff: responded no,and that Council President Gipson thought it would be helpful for business owners. Commissioner Sand stated that the size • the project and the intensity of the change would have some affect as to the difficulty of releasing th: requirement for off-street parking.
