Additional revisions or additions may be <br /> required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the <br /> (2012 International Building Code,) (2012 International Residential Code,) as amended by the <br /> State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 2012 Edition, and adopted by the <br /> City of Everett, unless stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br /> provide the Building Division with two copies of drawings reflecting the corrections <br /> requested. <br /> 1. Provide deck lateral load connection per section R507.2.3 International Residential Code <br /> (IRC). The lateral load connection shall be permitted to be in accordance with figure <br /> R507.2.3. Where the lateral load connection is provided in accordance with figure <br /> R507.2.3 (1), hold-down tension devices shall be installed in not less than two locations <br /> per deck, and each device shall have an allowable stress design capacity of not less than <br /> 1500 pounds. <br /> Exception #2. — Where a new deck is being added to an existing structure, the <br /> lateral load connection required shall be permitted to be in accordance with <br /> figure R507.2.3 (2) (WA state amendment). <br /> Note for purposes of lateral loads decks on 2 sides of the dwelling shall be considered as <br /> two separate decks. (Lateral connection required on each side). <br /> 2.
