August 19, 2015 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br />p.m., August 19, 2015, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br />Moore Historic City Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call <br />it was found that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Moore, <br />Murphy, Bader, and, Tuohy were present. Council Members Roberts, <br />Gipson, and Stonecipher were excused. <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the August 12, 2015, City Council meeting were approved <br />as printed. Council Member Moore abstained from the vote. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Stephanson provided an update on the fires in Eastern Washington <br />and thanked Fire Chief Gordon and firefighters for supporting the effort. <br />Mayor Stephanson reported on his participation at the Summer Reading <br />Program Awards ceremony hosted by the Everett Public Library on <br />August 18, 2015, and thanked library staff for their work. He also stated <br />that Fitch & Associates are finalizing their report, which will be provided to <br />the Council before the end of the week. <br />COUNCIL <br />Council Member Moore thanked volunteers and citizens who participated <br />in recent community events. <br />Council Member Murphy requested an update from City staff on the <br />progress of the Riverfront project, from both residential and commercial <br />standpoints. Council Member Murphy provided recommendations for the <br />new City Council Rules of Procedure for the conduct of Council and <br />requested the topic be revisited at a future meeting. He announced that <br />the first Budget and Finance Subcommittee meeting will be held on <br />September 2, 2015, the Budget Review Number 5 presentation will be <br />provided at that time at the subcommittee level. <br />246 <br />
