M&N#8057-04 <br /> July 5, 2016 Memorandum <br /> Items Not Observed During Construction <br /> M&N personnel were not on site continuously during construction,therefore items not explicitly listed were not <br /> observed.This includes, but is not limited to,the sheet pile installation(driving), upland and marine backfilling, upland <br /> civil work, and dredging. General conformance for these items should be provided by the consultants/sub-consultants <br /> responsible for the design of the work. For example the geotechnical engineer should provide general conformance <br /> observations for the sheet pile driving and bulkhead backfilling operations. In addition,field testing (e.g,fresh <br /> concrete tests, concrete cylinder strength tests, backfill compaction)was completed by an independent agency and <br /> material test reports were not made available to M&N for review. <br /> Limitation <br /> The presence of M&N's personnel at a construction site is for the purpose of observing the progress and quality of <br /> the work and providing the PORT with relevant information about whether the completed construction work conforms <br /> generally to the construction documents and the overall design intent. Any reference to"inspection"in the site visit <br /> memorandums attached refers to construction observations only.
