ARTICLE 19 - MINIMUM CREW <br /> 19.1 General. <br /> 19.1.1 The City and the Association agree that for reasons of safety, the minimum <br /> number of patrol officers actually in the field on any given patrol shift shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> Day Shift: Twelve (12) officers <br /> Night Shift: Thirteen(13) officers <br /> If, because of illness or other reasons, the established minimum of the assigned <br /> officers are not actually out in the field, the Chief of Police or his designee shall <br /> call in enough off-duty officers to bring the strength up to the required number of <br /> officers. <br /> 19.1.2 Not included in the established minimum staffing are the following categories of <br /> the Police Department Patrol Division. <br /> A. Foot patrol officers <br /> B. Pedacycle patrol officers <br /> C. Uniformed Special Operations personnel <br /> 19.1.3 Supervisor minimums are defined as follows: <br /> Day Shift: Three (3) supervisors <br /> Night Shift: Three (3) supervisors <br /> If, because of illness or other reasons, the established minimum of the assigned <br /> supervisors are not actually out in the field, the Chief of Police or his designee <br /> shall call in enough off-duty supervisors to bring the strength up to the required <br /> number of supervisors. If, the assignment of an acting supervisory position can be <br /> made without effecting the aforementioned patrol minimum crew, this acting <br /> supervisory appointment can be made at the direction of the Chief of Police or his <br /> designee. <br /> EVERETT POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br /> PAGE 29 <br />
