DHS <br /> provides funds to increase the preparedness capabilities of jurisdictions responsible for the safety and <br /> security of communities surrounding high-priority Critical Infrastructure and Key Resource assets through <br /> planning and equipment acquisition. This grant provides for the acquisition of a Mobile Command Vehicle <br /> that would allow-the Everett Police Department to respond to potential release of hazardous materials. The <br /> Everett Police Department received an extension of the contract from June 30, 2012,to August 31,2012 and <br /> has requested an extension through May 31, 2013. Contract#E12-215,Amendment#B allows additional <br /> time necessary for equipment bidding, approval and purchasing. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary documents to extend the contract with the Washington State <br /> Military Department for the FFY10 Buffer Zone Protection Program award. <br /> 145 <br />
