A <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An Ordinance relating to liquor,amending Ordinance Nos. 3471, <br /> 1145-85, and 2442-00, as amended. <br /> WHEREAS, amendment of the City's liquor regulations will clarify the City's regulation of <br /> liquor and better correspond with state regulations; and <br /> WHEREAS,Departments other than Parks and Recreation occasionally allow City facilities to <br /> be used for events where liquor is served; and <br /> WHEREAS,proper regulations should apply to arrangements allowing liquor on City property; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> • <br /> Section 1. <br /> Section 111 of Ordinance No. 1145-85 (EMC 10.42.010),which reads as follows: <br /> Definitions. <br /> For the purposes of this chapter words and phrases used shall have the following <br /> meanings: <br /> A. "Alcohol"is that substance known as ethyl alcohol, hydrated oxide of <br /> • ethyl, or spirit of wine,which is commonly produced by the fermentation or <br /> distillation of grain, starch,molasses, or sugar, or other substances including all <br /> dilutions and mixtures of this substance. The term"alcohol" does not include <br /> alcohol in the possession of a manufacturer or distiller of alcohol fuel, as <br /> described in RCW 66.12.130,which is intended to be denatured and used as a fuel <br /> for use in motor vehicles, farm implements and machines or implements of <br /> husbandry. <br /> B. "Beer"means any beverage obtained by the alcoholic fermentation of an <br /> infusion or decoction of pure hops, or pure extract of hops and pure barley malt or <br /> other wholesome grain or cereal in pure water containing not more than four <br /> percent of alcohol by weight, and not less than one half of one percent of alcohol <br /> Pa3e 1of11 <br />
