<br /> 4. Coordinate efforts and collaborate with the state legislators, legislative
<br /> committees, State agencies, AWC, PSRC, Sound Transit, Community Transit and
<br /> local government coalitions, alliances and partnerships on matters of mutual
<br /> concern;
<br /> 5. Regarding higher education access and expansion issues, coordinate with
<br /> legislative leadership, the Governor's Office, Washington State University,
<br /> University Center, Everett Community College, other higher education officials,
<br /> local higher education interest groups and the City's advisor.
<br /> 6. Assist with interim activities, strategies, and issue management to achieve
<br /> legislative objectives; attend interim meetings of legislative committees, boards,
<br /> committees, task forces and state agencies' meetings, AWC, PSRC, and related
<br /> organizations, associations, and ad hoc groups.
<br /> 7. Participate in regular and ongoing discussions with the Mayor/City Council,
<br /> department heads/senior directors to determine areas of legislative impact upon
<br /> the City, funding initiatives for City projects; and frame recommendations for
<br /> legislative action;
<br /> 8. Maintain and initiate regular contact with state legislators, officials, and staff;
<br /> 9. Prepare weekly reports during session on status of City agenda items, as well as
<br /> overall legislative and funding issues impacting City.
<br /> At the regional level-
<br /> Assist City as needed with regional affairs issues,which could include but are not
<br /> limited to, Sound Transit, Community Transit, Puget Sound Regional Council,
<br /> Washington Water Policy Alliance, Washington Water Utility Council, DOE
<br /> Water Resource Advisory Committee, Joint Transportation Committee, Ports,
<br /> City-Tulalip Tribes Joint Water Pipeline Board, SCCIT, Farmhouse Gang,
<br /> Managers/Administrators Group (Snohomish County), Washington Military
<br /> Alliance, Washington Aerospace Partnership, Washington Defense Partnership,
<br /> Economic Alliance Snohomish County and other business associations,coalitions,
<br /> partnerships and interest groups.
<br /> At federal level—
<br /> 1. Assist as requested in the consideration of a Congressional agenda and specific
<br /> federal activities such as the commnnity-military relations and Homeland
<br /> Security, Washington State University, the City-Tulalip Tribes Joint Water
<br /> Pipeline Board and the National League of Cities, the U.S. Conference of Mayors
<br /> and ad hoc interest groups, coalitions, and partnerships.
<br /> 2. Assist as requested in meetings with congressional delegation members, staffs and
<br /> representatives.
