9 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> • May 2012 MAY 2 9 M2 <br /> City Administration <br /> To: Mayor Ray Stephanson <br /> From: Northwest Neighborhood Association <br /> Re: Renaming NW Neighborhood Park <br /> Drew Nielsen worked closely with all of the Northwest Neighborhood to <br /> save the park from becoming a parking lot or a large building for the <br /> hospital.Along with other neighbors he personally helped build the arbor <br /> and the gazebo. The charming wisteria was his idea to give the arbor <br /> definition and provide a shady place to sit during warm days. <br /> Drew Nielsen had great passion for the city,the government and the law. <br /> He advocated for our neighborhood and the people who live in it and was <br /> instrumental in founding the Northwest Neighborhood Association and the <br /> Council of Neighborhoods. <br /> Drew Nielsen was a friend, a neighbor, an advocate and a leader. He loved <br /> Everett and was always searching for ways to make it better. Above all,he <br /> was a gentleman and a peacemaker who was always willing to listen to <br /> opinions from anyone who approached him. <br /> The Neighborhood Park is a true testament to a man whose roots are deep in <br /> Everett.
