Businesses along the north frontage of Hayes Street (addresses: 1611, 3411 and
3419)have agreed to utilize the alleyway behind their businesses for vehicle access
when Hayes Street is closed. The alleyway north of Hayes St. will be graded and
' paved by the City to enable forklift use etc. The contractor shall provide and
maintain safe pedestrian access on the north frontage of Hayes Street while it is
closed. The construction contractor shall schedule and execute work on Hayes
Street affecting these addresses to minimize the duration of this disruption. Work
may need to be done at night, weekends or as otherwise scheduled to the
satisfaction of the businesses and City. Furthermore, some of these businesses have
equipment or materials that are sensitive to vibration and dust. The construction
contractor shall discuss this issue with these businesses and undertake his
construction activities in a manner that eliminates or minimizes such impacts.
b. Businesses along the south frontage of Hayes Street (addresses: 1625, 1725 and
I 3420) do not have alternative access routes other than Hayes St. Consequently, the
construction contractor must schedule and execute work on Hayes Street to
minimize the duration of this disruption. Existing fences and gates along this
frontage may need to be reconfigured to provide improved access for these
businesses. Work may need to be done at night, weekends or as otherwise
scheduled to the satisfaction of the businesses and City.
c . _ . . _ ,. , - - •
.. _
•
- - . -•- - - • • - - • .. ..
City.
Washington Marine Cleaning (3430) utilizes the alleyway and adjacent BNSF
property for large tank trailers, "frac"tanks and other equipment. The leased BNSF
property(parallel to the alleyway)may be made available to the contractor(by this
business) if it helps expedite the contractor's work.
