I <br /> 2-02.3(3)E Removal of Catch Basins,Manholes,Inlets or Sumps <br /> Excavate and completely remove the structure including, but not limited to, casting and <br /> 1111 <br /> outlet trap, concrete encasement and bricks, as applicable to each removal item listed in <br /> the Proposal. <br /> Plug existing connecting pipes that remain as specified in 7.08.3(4). Backfill shall be <br /> Gravel Borrow as specified in 9-03.14(1). Compact backfill to a minimum of 95 percent <br /> maximum density in accordance with 2-03.3(14)D. <br /> 2-02.3(4) Obliteration of Pavement Markings <br /> (******) <br /> Remove pavement markings where shown on the Plans or where designated by the Engineer. <br /> Obliterate pavement marking until blemishes caused by the pavement marking removal <br /> conform to the coloration of the adjacent pavement. If the pavement is materially damaged by <br /> pavement marking removal operation, Contractor shall repair the pavement damage, at the <br /> Contractor's expense, to a condition equal to existing pavement that had no markings <br /> obliterated. Remove sand or other material deposited on the pavement as a result of removing <br /> stripes and markings as the Work progresses to avoid hazardous conditions. Accumulation of <br /> sand or other material that might interfere with drainage will not be permitted. <br /> 2-02.3(5) Abandon Pipe In-place <br /> (******) <br /> Existing pipes designated on plans to be abandoned shall be plugged on both ends as specified <br /> in 7-08.3(4). Where in conflict with new work, abandoned pipes shall be removed and disposed <br /> of as necessary to install new work and the existing pipe that remains shall be plugged. If <br /> designated on plans, fill abandoned pipe in-place with Controlled Density Fill as specified in 2- <br /> 09.3(1)E. <br /> 2-02.3(6) Sawing and Line Drilling <br /> (******) <br /> Saw-cut to full depth mortared decorative or special pavement including, but not limited to, <br /> brick, cobblestone or paver block along a neat line with intent of salvaging as many units as <br /> possible. <br /> When line drilling, drill holes at maximum center-to-center spacing of six-inches. Drill holes <br /> perpendicular to the surface and penetrate completely through the pavement. <br /> When the Plans indicate, or the Engineer requires, saw-cutting pavement that is comprised of a <br /> rigid base and asphalt overlay, saw cut the rigid base to the minimum depth as follows: <br /> a. For concrete rigid base, saw cut to a depth of 2/3 the thickness of the rigid base. <br /> b. For rigid base constructed with mortared decorative or special pavement including, <br /> but not limited to, brick, cobblestone, or paver block, or a combination of such <br /> materials saw cut to full depth of the rigid base along a neat line with intent to <br /> salvage as many special pavement units as possible. <br /> 2-02.3(7) Salvage <br /> (******) <br /> Carefully salvage and deliver to the Owner in good condition,all materials of recoverable value <br /> taken from the discarded facilities, unless otherwise indicated. Materials and things deemed of <br /> no value by the Engineer shall become the Contractor's property to be removed and properly <br /> disposed. <br /> Remove excess concrete, debris and dirt from castings and other materials the Engineer <br /> designates suitable for salvage and that are not to be re-used elsewhere on the Project.
