1 <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Square Yard(SY) <br /> The unit price per cubic yard for excavation shall be full compensation for all labor, compaction, <br /> material, incidentals, tools, and equipment necessary to grade the site and remove asphalt <br /> concrete pavement, cement concrete, curbs and sidewalks that is not otherwise removed by <br /> trenching for pipes or manholes and where specifically indicated on the plans and as directed by <br /> the City. Also, incidental to this Bid item is excavation and removal any aggregate base material <br /> and site grading of soil material necessary to reach design elevations for subgrade of restoration <br /> paving or finished elevation of site grading. <br /> Also to be included in this Bid item shall be the cost of site grading, excavating, hauling, and <br /> disposing of the existing pavement and base material and hydroseeding all non-paved disturbed <br /> areas. <br /> All materials and items of work required by the Plans, Standard Specifications, Special and <br /> Standard Provisions, or otherwise necessary for complete asphalt concrete pavement replacement <br /> that are not specifically listed among the bid items in the proposal shall be considered incidental <br /> to the listed bid items.No further payment will be made. <br /> There will be no separate payment for haul on any material moved within or disposed offsite <br /> from the project site and the Contractor shall include the cost of hauling in this Bid item. <br /> Compaction of native material will be considered incidental to the unit contract price of other bid <br /> items related to placement of base course or paving materials. Compaction of import material <br /> will be considered incidental to the unit price per ton of import material. <br /> Measurement for roadway excavation will be based on the surface area measured in square <br /> yards. <br /> If discrepancies are discovered in the ground elevations which will materially affect the <br /> quantities of earthwork, the original computations of earthwork quantities will be adjusted <br /> accordingly. <br /> Bid Item 8—GRAVEL BORROW,INCLUDING HAUL <br /> Specification Section 2-03 <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Ton <br /> Measurement for Gravel Borrow shall be by the ton, recorded on certified weight tickets in <br /> accordance with 1-09.2 WEIGHING EQUIPMENT, and placed within the limits of dimensions <br /> defined in the Work, descriptions for other bid items, shown on the Plans, or COE Standard <br /> Drawings, or as otherwise approved by the Engineer. <br /> Measurement for gravel borrow shall be limited to maximum trench widths defined in the work i <br /> descriptions for other bid items. <br /> The unit price per ton, based on certified weight tickets, for gravel borrow shall be full <br /> compensation for all labor, material, tools and equipment necessary to furnish imported gravel <br /> borrow for trench backfill where Engineer has determined native soils are not suitable for <br /> backfill, and other Work as required, from a Contractor-supplied source in accordance with 2- <br /> 03.3(14)J of the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions.
