t <br /> IIn addition to supplemental drawings furnished by the Engineer, the Contract Documents may <br /> also be supplemented by Type 1, Type 2 or 2E, and Type 3 or 3E Working Drawings prepared <br /> by the Contractor, material supplier, or manufacturer, when necessary or as required by the <br /> Contract Documents to detail and illustrate portions of the Work. All types of Working <br /> Drawings shall be reviewed by the Engineer before work pursuant to those Working Drawings <br /> is performed. Type 3 and 3E Working Drawings may include, and not be limited to, shop <br /> I details, erection plans, masonry lay-out diagrams, reinforcing steel and bending diagrams, post <br /> tensioning plans, shoring, cribbing, cofferdam, or falsework plans, formwork plans, or <br /> hydraulic items. Type 2 and 2E Working Drawings may include, and not be limited to, Catalog <br /> I cuts or standard plans for commonly used manufactured items. <br /> The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the accuracy of dimensions and details on <br /> Working Drawings, and for complete conformity with the Contract Documents, even if the <br /> 1 Working Drawings have been approved by the Engineer, or if the Contractor and the Engineer <br /> agree on dimensions and details. The City does not accept Working Drawings as accurate or <br /> adequate, and does not take responsibility for, or warrant that Working Drawings will meet <br /> I Contract requirements. <br /> Engineer's review of Working Drawings shall not relieve Contractor from responsibility for <br /> variation from the requirements of the Contract Documents unless Contractor has in writing <br /> 111, called the Engineer's attention to each such variation at the time of submission, and the <br /> Engineer has given written approval of each such variation by a specific written notation <br /> thereof incorporated in or accompanying the returned Working Drawing; nor will review by <br /> Engineer relieve Contractor from responsibility for errors or omissions in the Working <br /> I Drawings or from responsibility for having complied with the provisions of this section. <br /> Submittal requirements may be found in 1-05.3(1) or elsewhere in these Special Provisions. <br /> Deviations from Standard Plans will be subject to a Working Drawing submitted by the <br /> I Contractor and approved by the Engineer. Where a Working Drawing is required by the <br /> Specifications, related Work performed prior to completion of the Engineer's review of the <br /> pertinent submission will be the sole expense and responsibility of the Contractor. <br /> I Supplement 1-05.3 by adding the following: <br /> 1-05.3(1) Submittals <br /> (******) <br /> I Where required by the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall submit information, such as <br /> Working Drawings that will enable the City's Representative to advise the City whether the <br /> Contractor's proposed materials, Equipment or methods of work are in general conformance to <br /> I the design concept and in compliance with the Plans and Specifications,. Approval or <br /> acceptance of a Submittal does not relieve Contractor from complying with Contract <br /> requirements. The City's approval of a Submittal does not constitute a waiver of the Contract <br /> I requirements. The City will not be obligated to accept or pay for Work performed by the <br /> Contractor that may be affected by materials, Equipment, or methods of work not submitted in <br /> a timely manner so that final review can be accomplished before the affected Work is complete. <br /> The City shall not be responsible for Delays, inefficiencies, or any additional costs or expenses <br /> caused in whole or in part by Contractor's failure to submit required information in sufficient <br /> time for review, comment, and correction. Contractor's failure to submit required information <br /> in sufficient time for review, comment and correction shall be deemed a waiver of any and all <br /> I Contract Claims for adjustment of Contract Sum or Contract Time arising out of, or related to, <br /> such a Submittal.
