Substructure ±0.02 foot(from plan elevations) <br /> t The Contractor shall slope stake the roadway before any construction may proceed. Slope <br /> stakes shall be set at 50'maximum intervals on tangents and 25'on curves. <br /> I Subgrade bluetops and surfacing red and yellow tops shall be set at 50' intervals in tangent <br /> sections,25'intervals in curve sections,and 10'intervals in intersection radii. <br /> The Contractor's surveyor shall be a licensed surveyor in the State of Washington. The <br /> Contractor shall keep updated survey field notes in a standard field book and in a format set by <br /> the Engineer. These field notes shall include all survey work performed by the Contractor's <br /> surveyor in establishing line, grade and slopes for the construction work. Copies of these field <br /> notes shall be provided to the Engineer upon request and upon completion of the Contract <br /> I Work;the field book shall be submitted to the Engineer and become property of the City. <br /> If the survey work provided by the Contractor does not meet the standards of the Engineer,then <br /> the Contractor shall, upon the Engineer's written request, remove the individual or individuals <br /> doing the survey work and the survey work will be completed by the Engineer at the <br /> Contractor's expense. Costs for completing the survey work required by the Engineer will be <br /> deducted from monies due or to become due the Contractor. <br /> I The City may spot-check the Contractor's surveying. These spot-checks will not change the <br /> requirements for normal checking and testing as described elsewhere, and do not relieve the <br /> Contractor of the responsibility of producing a finished product that is in accordance with the <br /> I Contract. <br /> In all disputes concerning accuracy of lines and elevations, the City shall be assumed correct <br /> and the Contractor shall correct the discrepancies before construction work may proceed. No <br /> additional compensation will be paid for this corrective Work. <br /> Payment: The lump sum contract price for"Surveying" shall be full pay for all costs involved <br /> in furnishing all labor, tools, survey instruments, materials, and other equipment necessary for <br /> the setting and maintaining of the alignment and grade as specified. <br /> 1-05.6 Inspection of Work and Materials <br /> Supplement 1-05.6 by adding the following: <br /> I 1-05.6(1) Demonstration of Compliance with Contract Requirements <br /> (******) <br /> The burden of proving the constructed Work complies with the Contract Documents shall be on <br /> I the Contractor at all times. The Contractor shall grant the City's Representative access to the <br /> Work and work site and to places where Work is being prepared, or where materials, <br /> Equipment, or machinery are being obtained for the Work. The Contractor shall provide <br /> ,,r\ information requested by the City's Representative in connection with inspection work. <br /> If the Contract Documents,laws,ordinances, or public regulatory authority requires parts of the <br /> Work to be specially inspected, tested, or approved, the Contractor shall give the City's <br /> Representative be not less than two working days prior written Notice of the availability of the <br /> subject Work for examination. <br /> Inspection and quality control tests performed on the Contractor's work by the City's <br /> Representative shall not relieve the Contractor of its responsibility for errors or lack of quality <br /> therein and shall not be regarded as an assumption of risks or liability by the City's <br /> Representative for the Contractor's compliance with these Contract Documents.
