I <br /> I the vicinity of the Work and to reasonably protect persons and property. No roads or <br /> street shall be closed to the public except with the permission of the City's Representative <br /> I and the proper governmental authority. Fire hydrants on or adjacent to the Work shall be <br /> accessible to firefighting equipment. Temporary provisions shall be made by the <br /> Contractor for the use of sidewalks, private and public driveways and proper functioning <br /> of gutters, sewer inlets, drainage ditches and culverts, irrigation ditches and <br /> natural water courses. <br /> 1-05.19 City-Contractor Coordination <br /> (******) <br /> 1 1-05.19(1) Suggestions to Contractor <br /> Nothing in these Contract Documents requires the City's Representative to provide the <br /> r•11 Contractor with direction or advice on how to do the Work, construction practices, or means <br /> and methods. If the City's Representative approves, suggests or recommends any construction <br /> practice, means, method or manner for doing the Work or producing materials, the approval or <br /> recommendation shall not: (A) guarantee that following the method or manner will result in <br /> I compliance with the Contract Documents; (B)relieve the Contractor of any risks or obligations <br /> under the Contract Documents;or(C)create liability by the City to the Contractor. <br /> Suggestions as to the plans or methods of accomplishing the Work or Contract requirements by <br /> I the City or the City's Representative to the Contractor but not specified or required, if adopted <br /> or followed by the Contractor in whole or in part, shall be used at the risk and responsibility of <br /> the Contractor. The City and the City's Representative assume no responsibility therefore and <br /> in no way will be held liable for any defects in the Work which may result from or be caused by <br /> II <br /> use of such plan or method of Work. <br /> 1-05.19(2) Meetings with City <br /> J The Contractor shall have its duly authorized representative attend periodic informational <br /> meetings with the City's Representative and City staff,as reasonably required by the City. <br /> Contractor, City, and City's Representative shall meet as often as determined by the City's <br /> L Representative,but no less often than once each month. The purpose of the meeting is to review <br /> Project status in relation to the construction schedule; review value of Work completed during <br /> the previous month; and, if applicable, review Contractor's plans to return Project status to that <br /> required by the schedule. If requested by the City or City's Representative,the Contractor shall <br /> submit a written progress report within five(5)days following this meeting,comprising: <br /> The current construction schedule indicating percent complete, actual completion or start dates <br /> II since the previous review, the estimated remaining duration for each activity in progress, <br /> Schedule of Values update,and narrative summary. <br /> Reasons any activities are behind schedule and the corrective steps being taken. <br /> I 1-05.19(3) Cooperation with Others <br /> The Contractor agrees to permit entry to the work site by the City, its employees or other <br /> contractors performing Work on behalf of the City. The Contractor shall afford to the City, <br /> ill other contractors and their employees, reasonable facilities and cooperation and arrange its <br /> work and dispose of its materials in such a manner as to not interfere with the activities of the <br /> City or of others upon the site of Work. The Contractor shall promptly make good Contractor- <br /> caused injury or damage to persons or property that may be sustained by other contractors or <br /> 111 employees of the City. The Contractor shall join its Work to that of others and perform its Work <br /> in proper sequence in relation to that of others. <br /> 111 If requested by the Contractor,the City will arrange meetings with other contractors performing <br /> Work on behalf of the City to plan coordination of construction activities.
