Officers assigned to these overtime patrols partner with social service agencies as needed to provide additional access to social services. These high visibility patrols allow for seven day a week coverage with officers on foot, bicycle, and patrol cars to discourage loitering in these areas and enforce criminal laws where appropriate. This amendment reallocates funds from regular labor accounts, where the department is currently running under budget, to overtime budget accounts.
