The City <br /> of Everett has adopted ordinance 2909-06 to designate critical <br /> areas and to adopt development regulations to protect critical <br /> areas (RCW36.70A060 and .170 and WAC 365-194-410). <br /> A vegetation management stewardship plan includes policies, <br /> strategies and actions recommended for the facility and shall <br /> consider the following: <br /> • Impacts to Critical Area features and Growth <br /> Management Act <br /> • Protection and enhancement of wildlife populations <br /> • Provision for environmental education, using wildlife <br /> resources <br /> • Promotion of volunteer involvement in wildlife and <br /> habitat protection and enhancement <br /> • Promotion of interdepartmental and interagency <br /> cooperation to protect wildlife <br /> • Sensitivity to habitats such as riparian and wetland <br /> areas, promoting native plant communities, controlling <br /> invasive plants, maintaining species diversity, using <br /> parks and greenspaces for educational purposes, <br /> promoting volunteer stewardship of wildlife resources, <br /> and integrating street tree programs with parks and <br /> greenspaces to promote wildlife habitat. <br /> 19 <br />
