Valley View Commons Summary: The Valley View Commons project was <br /> designed with professional landscape architects' help using a previous <br /> neighborhood large project fund award. The current project is for <br /> construction of Phase I - the implementation of steps to install water service, <br /> plants along the sound walls and to hold neighborhood work parties for site <br /> improvements and maintenance. In addition, neighborhood celebrations will <br /> be held and outreach to plan for Phase II will begin. <br /> Funds requested: $8,950. Match pledged: $19,645. <br /> Charles Street P-Patch Summary: Charles Street P-Patch was constructed <br /> over the past two years. Additional elements are proposed, such as water <br /> meter installation and irrigation, construction of a tool shed and more edible <br /> plantings, which will increase the success of the gardeners and foster <br /> stability of the garden in the long term. <br /> Funds requested: $3,580. Match pledged: $4,250. <br /> Not Recommended for Funding: <br /> Riverside Historic Sign Toppers Summary: The Riverside Neighborhood <br /> proposal is to have the city install sign toppers that sit atop street signs at <br /> each of the 36 intersections within the Riverside Historic District. These <br /> signs would be designed by the neighborhood to celebrate the historic <br /> designation, and denote the parameters of the district, showing neighborhood <br /> pride. <br /> Funds requested: $3,200. Match pledged: $4,625. <br />
