RESOLUTION NO. 6383 <br /> El/J?ETT <br /> A RESOLUTION adopting the Senator Henry M. Jackson Park Master Plan <br /> WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation strategic plan, adopted by City Council on March <br /> 21, 2007, identified a need to prepare updated master plans for all existing parks; and <br /> WHEREAS, subsequent to strategic plan adoption the Board of Park Commissioners <br /> identified Senator Henry M. Jackson Park as a high priority for creation of a new master <br /> plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Senator Henry M. Jackson Park master plan development process began <br /> in 2009; and <br /> WHEREAS, this process resulted in the development, discussion and evaluation of <br /> master plan alternatives; and <br /> WHEREAS, significant public involvement helped to develop the Senator Henry M. <br /> Jackson Park master plan and; <br /> WHEREAS, this public involvement included public meetings, forums, workshops, field <br /> trips, site visits, outreach to citizens for whom English is a second language, Delta and <br /> Riverside neighborhood association meetings, project advisory committee meetings and <br /> Board of Park Commissioners meetings; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Park Commissioners held a public hearing on the draft final <br /> master plan at its regularly scheduled meeting on March 8, 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, after closure of the public hearing the Board of Park Commissioners <br /> unanimously recommended approval of the draft final master plan as the final master <br /> plan by the City Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, a State Environmental Policy Act analysis (SEPA 11-005) was performed <br /> on the recommended final master plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett Planning and Community Development Department <br /> issued a Determination of Non-Significance on April 7, 2011, for the recommended final <br /> master plan; <br /> 1 <br />
