VISION AND GOALS <br /> Vision and Goals <br /> The vision and goals for the park established by the city and <br /> design team act as a guide for the master plan design effort. <br /> The Everett Parks and Recreation Strategic Master Plan <br /> establishes the following vision for all Everett parks: <br /> "Our vision is to be viewed as a best-in-class <br /> Parks and Recreation provider that is centered on <br /> meeting the community values that support <br /> Everett citizens' and visitors' needs and desires <br /> for cost effective and accessible parks, recreation <br /> facilities and programs for people of all ages." <br /> The Everett Parks and Recreation Strategic Master Plan <br /> defines the following goals for all of its park and recreation <br /> facilities: <br /> • "Achieve park and recreation facility standards recom- <br /> mended in (this) strategic master plan while providing <br /> the existing parks and recreation facilities that will ex- <br /> tend their useful asset life and provide a quality image <br /> of our neighborhoods and the community as a whole." <br /> • "Achieve parks and recreation facilities that create <br /> strong citizen ownership of neighborhood and commu- <br /> nity park facilities and attractions." <br /> • "Manage all core recreation program businesses to the <br /> highest level of productivity and efficiency. Demon- <br /> strate quality and professional management so that <br /> customers have a positive experience." <br /> • "Financially fund the Parks and Recreation System <br /> through effective use of all available revenue re- <br /> sources." <br /> • "Create effective partnerships to build parks, facilities <br /> and programs that maximize the community's re- <br /> sources to the highest level possible through effective <br /> planning." <br /> The city and the design team established the following goals <br /> specific to the master plan of Senator Henry M. Jackson Park <br /> at the beginning of the design process. They are intended to <br /> supplement the vision and goals outlined above. <br /> • Develop a park that is a recreational asset to the City <br /> and the surrounding community. <br /> • Develop a park that is cost effective and takes into con- <br /> sideration long-term maintenance and operation of fa- <br /> cilities. <br /> • Develop a park that enhances access to its recreational <br /> amenities and connects to the City's trail system and <br /> the surrounding community. <br /> Senator Henry M Jackson Park Master Plan 5 <br />
