Maintenance & Storage
The 20 x 64 foot storage and maintenance building contains
space for maintenance and athletic equipment storage, an
electrical/irrigation equipment room, and a small game offi-
cial's refuge room with lockers and a bench.
Site Furnishings
Many of the site furnishings included in the master plan design
are indicated on the drawings while others are not. Site fur-
nishings will meet all accessibility requirements. Furnishings
will be selected to meet the city's sustainability goals. For ex-
ample they may be locally manufactured and made of durable,
recycled or reused materials. The following type and number
of furnishings are included in the cost estimate for planning
purposes. A complete list of furnishings included in the master
plan follows:
• Play Equipment for tots (2-5 years) and older children
(5-12 years) may include climbing features, slides,
spring toys, swings, and elements to inspire imagina-
tive play. Play area design and equipment are subject
to further review during the subsequent design phase.
• 47 benches throughout the site along pedestrian path-
ways and in plaza areas. 16 athletic benches are pro-
vided adjacent to the athletic fields including within the
dugouts.
• 21 trash receptacles at convenient locations throughout
the site along pedestrian pathways, in plaza areas, and
adjacent to the athletic fields.
• 17 picnic tables, primarily in the western side of the
park adjacent to pathways, in the children's play plaza,
and under picnic shelters. A few of the tables are in the
eastern part of the site.
• 9 bicycle racks near park entrances and parking lots.
• The basketball court has 2 basketball goals.
• 3 drinking fountains with freeze proof valves in the pic-
nic/play area and near each baseball backstop.
• An information kiosk in the southwestern pedestrian
entry plaza. Park orientation and activities information
will be posted within the kiosk.
• 29 bollards to prevent vehicular access into the park; 5
of those bollards are removable to allow access for
park maintenance vehicles.
• Athletic equipment includes 4 foul poles, 2 sets of
bases & plates, 4 portable soccer goals at the back-
stops, 4 30 ft long x 4 row aluminum bleachers, and 2
40 ft long x 4 row aluminum bleachers.
• A 35 ft high lighted aluminum flagpole, with internal hal-
yard, at the center north side of the athletic fields.
Senator Henry M Jackson Park Master Plan 47
