1 1-05.11.RTF <br /> 2 1-05.11 Final Inspection <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Delete this section and replace it with the following: <br /> 5 <br /> 6 1-05.11 Final Inspections and Operational Testing <br /> 7 (October 1, 2005 APWA GSP) <br /> 8 <br /> 9 1-05.11(1) Substantial Completion Date <br /> 10 <br /> 11 When the Contractor considers the work to be substantially complete, the <br /> 12 Contractor shall so notify the Engineer and request the Engineer establish the <br /> 13 Substantial Completion Date. The Contractor's request shall list the specific <br /> 14 items of work that remain to be completed in order to reach physical completion. <br /> 15 The Engineer will schedule an inspection of the work with the Contractor to <br /> 16 determine the status of completion. The Engineer may also establish the <br /> 17 Substantial Completion Date unilaterally. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 If, after this inspection, the Engineer concurs with the Contractor that the work is <br /> 20 substantially complete and ready for its intended use, the Engineer, by written <br /> 21 notice to the Contractor, will set the Substantial Completion Date. If, after this <br /> 22 inspection the Engineer does not consider the work substantially complete and <br /> 23 ready for its intended use, the Engineer will, by written notice, so notify the <br /> 24 Contractor giving the reasons therefor. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Upon receipt of written notice concurring in or denying substantial completion, <br /> 27 whichever is applicable, the Contractor shall pursue vigorously, diligently and <br /> 28 without unauthorized interruption, the work necessary to reach Substantial and <br /> 29 Physical Completion. The Contractor shall provide the Engineer with a revised <br /> 30 schedule indicating when the Contractor expects to reach substantial and <br /> 31 physical completion of the work. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 The above process shall be repeated until the Engineer establishes the <br /> 34 Substantial Completion Date and the Contractor considers the work physically <br /> 35 complete and ready for final inspection. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 1-05.11(2) Final Inspection and Physical Completion Date <br /> 38 <br /> 39 When the Contractor considers the work physically complete and ready for final <br /> 40 inspection, the Contractor by written notice, shall request the Engineer to <br /> 41 schedule a final inspection. The Engineer will set a date for final inspection. The <br /> 42 Engineer and the Contractor will then make a final inspection and the Engineer <br /> 43 will notify the Contractor in writing of all particulars in which the final inspection <br /> 44 reveals the work incomplete or unacceptable. The Contractor shall immediately <br /> 45 take such corrective measures as are necessary to remedy the listed <br /> 46 deficiencies. Corrective work shall be pursued vigorously, diligently, and without <br /> 47 interruption until physical completion of the listed deficiencies. This process will <br /> 48 continue until the Engineer is satisfied the listed deficiencies have been <br /> 49 corrected. <br /> HOT MIX ASPHALT OVERLAY 2017 MARCH 2017 <br /> 13 <br />
