Meg Haley
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2014 5:13 PM
To: 'info@AAdva need hq.co m'
Cc: Teresa Weldon; John Jimerson
Subject: Sign permit approval pending building permit submission
RE: 2713 Maple Street
Sign Permit: 51406-003 for commercial office and garage
Mr. Morris,
I am a plans examiner for the Building Code at Everett Permit Services. Could you call me to discuss the material for the
posts? I would also be glad to meet you at your office to discuss the following.
----------------------------------------------
In reviewing the sign permit, the plans indicate a single family residence (SFR) in front of the commercial garage that was
built new and permitted in 2006.
Unfortunately, the SFR was not subsequently permitted as a change of occupancy to an office. Since the building is now
in use as an office, we will require the submittal of a building permit, with plans indicating the use of the rooms in the
house as offices, storage, or other uses instead of residential. The address will remain as 2713 for both the office and
the garage.
A change of occupancy to a building also requires compliance with the 2012 International Building Code for an exterior
accessible route. Although most of the elements of the accessible route are installed, some of the requirements are not
quite met.
Attached are an accessible route handout and a change of occupancy checklist for your reference.
Best,
Meg
LJ
andout-Accessib!L-hktst2G12-Change
Route.pdf of Occupancy...
Meg Haley,Architect I Plans Examiner, NCAR€3 f Public Services l Public Works
City of Everett 13200 Cedar St. Everett,WA 982011425-257-9813 '; mhaley@everettwa.gov
1
