4'• <br /> 1 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the owner of the building has been given <br /> 2 notice of this council meeting; and <br /> 3 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Chapter Ten of the Uniform Code for the <br /> 4 Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, as adopted by Ordinance No. 1254-86, empowers the <br /> 5 City Council to authorize the Building Official to take corrective action to those <br /> 6 portions of the building described herein since the building in its current condition <br /> 7 presents an immediate danger to the life and safety of persons; <br /> 8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> 9 OF EVERETT: <br /> 10 Section 1: An emergency is hereby declared to exist. <br /> 11 Section 2: The address of the building is 1507 Wall Street, Everett, <br /> 12 Washington. The building is located on the following described property: <br /> 13 <br /> Lots 13 to 18 inclusive, Block 682, Everett, according to the Plat thereof, <br /> 14 recorded in Volume 3 of Plats, page 32, Records of Snohomish County, <br /> State of Washington. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Section 3: The building located at the above address is hereby declared to be <br /> 17 a dangerous building. <br /> 18 Section 4: It reasonably appears that the building presents an immediate <br /> 19 danger to the life and safety of the general public. <br /> 20 Section 5: The Building Official is hereby authorized to secure and perform <br /> 21 emergency repair to the building located at the above-described address in order to <br /> 22 eliminate the safety hazard caused by the current condition of the following portions of <br /> 23 the building: <br /> 24 a. the upper southwest and southeast areas of the building; <br /> b. the southeast corner of the penthouse; and <br /> 25 c. the chimney. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Councilperson Introd cin! solution <br /> 28 PASSED and APPROVED this / ay of March, 1987. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> Council P esident <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> -2- <br />
