USE REGULATIONS <br /> 1. Applications for dredging operation (non-maintenance) <br /> shall include the following information: <br /> _ i • <br /> - } a. Information on stability of bedlands adjacent <br /> _ I to proposed dredging area. - <br /> 1 <br /> jb. Dredging procedure: time of dredging, method <br /> 4 of dredging, and spoils disposal. <br /> c. Spoils disposal area: location, size, capacity <br /> and physical and biological characteristics. <br /> 2. New dredging activity shall provide the following <br /> information with their application: <br /> a. Total initial spoils volume. <br /> y <br /> b. -Frequency 'and quantity of project -maintenance <br /> dredging. <br /> c. Area selected for initial spoils disposal. <br /> d. Plan for disposal of maintenance spoils for <br /> at least a ten-year period. <br /> 3. Dredging shall only be permitted for the following <br /> purposes and only when other alternatives- are im- <br /> • <br /> practicable. <br /> a. To improve water quality or aquatic habitat. <br /> b. To maintain and improve navigibilty and water- <br /> flow and to provide for port/water dependent <br /> industrial development. <br /> c. To mitigate conditions which could endanger <br /> public safety. <br /> d. To create or improve public recreational <br /> opportunities. <br /> • <br /> 4. Dredge spoils shall be deposited at approved dumping <br /> sites in Shoreline Management areas. <br /> Disposal of dredged spoils shall occur in diked areas <br /> when the existing conditions, use of the site, and <br /> Avr <br /> " impact of the fill so require.
