RESOLUTION NO.c ,Ct7 <br /> A RESOLUTION accepting the Port Gardner Neighborhood's recommendations <br /> for expenditure of approximately $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant <br /> funds and a matching amount from the street overlay fund; specifying the <br /> improvements to be made; and authorizing the preparation of a Plans and <br /> Systems Ordinance for construction and project implementation in the Spring <br /> and Summer of 1985. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to improve public <br /> facilities and the livability of the Port Gardner area; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 16, 1985, the City Council authorized approximately <br /> $30,000 of Community Development Block Grant funds for improvements in the <br /> Port Gardner area as part of the City of Everett's 1985 Community Development <br /> Block Grant application; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mayor Bill Moore reauthorized $30,000 of matching funding for <br /> Community Development Block Grant funded street and sidewalk neighborhood <br /> improvements in the Port Gardner area; <br /> WHEREAS, on March 11 , 1985, residents of the Port Gardner Neighborhood <br /> held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on the proposed <br /> projects; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett that: <br /> The following projects as recommended by Port Gardner residents be implemented <br /> or constructed with the approproximately $30,000 available through the <br /> Community Development Block Grant Program and matching funding available <br /> through the street overlay fund. <br /> I. Allocate $30,000 in CDBG funds and in matching funds for the following <br /> street and sidewalk improvement projects: <br /> A. 43rd Street - Rucker Avenue to Grand Avenue <br /> Overlay 43rd Street from Rucker to Grand. <br /> B. 43rd Street - Terrace Drive to Evergreen Way <br /> Construct new sidewalks on 43rd Street, west of Evergreen Way, <br /> from corner of Terrace Drive east to alley on the south side of <br /> 43rd Street. <br /> C. 34th Street - Rucker Avenue to Grand Avenue <br /> Construct new curb and gutter in the 1300 block of 34th Street. <br /> Repave if necessary because there is grass on part of the street. <br /> D. Grand Avenue - 3400 Block <br /> Replace cracked sidewalk in front of 3401 Grand Avenue. <br /> -1- <br /> 0380G <br />
