1 advised that the preference of the PUD is to not de-energize the lines if possible, <br /> 2 but in particular the PUD has a strong preference to not remove the lines from <br /> 3 service if at all possible. The Contractor shall coordinate all requests regarding <br /> 4 these lines directly with Snohomish County PUD. Snohomish County PUD has <br /> 5 sole approval authority regarding any and all requests associated with these lines. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 The contractor shall adhere, in addition to other directions in the Standard <br /> 8 Specifications or Plans, to the following criteria and specifications when planning <br /> 9 construction activities that may impact these lines or requesting these lines be de- <br /> 10 energized or removed temporarily. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 1. It is critical to the project that the Contractor be fully aware that the <br /> 13 overhead high voltage lines can only be either removed or de-energized <br /> 14 between June 1st and August 315`, 2018. The contractor must choose <br /> 15 between the removal and de-energizing options in their request to PUD. A <br /> 16 one-time removal will be accommodated during the period stated. The <br /> 17 maximum time for removal or de-energizing these lines is two weeks. It is <br /> 18 believed by the Consultant that it will be necessary to either remove or de- <br /> 19 energize these lines during the installation of the steel truss over the BNSF <br /> 20 tracks. <br /> 21 2. Lines may be de-energized, but not removed, if deemed operationally <br /> 22 permitted by PUD for specific shorter periods upon request. <br /> 23 3. All work for removal or de-energizing of lines shall be performed by PUD <br /> 24 under agreements with the Contractor. <br /> 25 4. The Contractor shall submit their requested outage window or schedule for <br /> 26 de-energizing or removal to the PUD 2.5 months in advance, at a minimum, <br /> 27 to the PUD contact listed below. PUD will review and either approve and <br /> 28 schedule the contractor's requested outage window, or provide an alternate <br /> 29 window if ongoing or planned PUD work known at the time of the submittal <br /> 30 will not allow for the Contractor's requested window, based on the <br /> 31 contractor's submittal complying with the remaining specifications herein. <br /> 32 5. The PUD will have full authority to interrupt the two week period or any de- <br /> 33 energizing period if deemed necessary by PUD due to an emergency. <br /> 34 Impacts to construction schedule could occur in such an event. Additional <br /> 35 working days will be added to the contract if such an event occurs. <br /> 36 6. For a removal and re-installment of power lines to occur the contractor shall <br /> 37 clear and maintain clear an area for PUD to work. PUD will inform the <br /> 38 Contractor of the specific requirements at the time of the request for the <br /> 39 outage. The clearing of a PUD work area may impact the construction <br /> 40 schedule. <br /> 41 7. All lines will be immediately re-energized by PUD following re-installment of <br /> 42 removed lines with no intent to de-energize at a later date. <br /> 43 8. All payment for work associated with applying for and obtaining the <br /> 44 necessary approvals and for implementing the temporary de-energizing or <br /> 45 removal of the PUD lines shall be considered incidental to the other costs of <br /> 46 the project.
