extend about 25 feet deep through Grand Ave Park, cross over the bridge, down the west
abutment utility tower and into West Marine View Drive and then head north for 50 feet. The
bridge will also carry a 12 inch sanitary sewer force main from West Marine View Drive up to
Grand Avenue. The bridge provides general public pedestrian access meeting ADA
requirements between Grand Avenue Park and the Port of Everett. Pedestrian access is via
a concrete slab that varies in width from 6.83 feet to 13.67 feet. On the west end, pedestrian
and ADA access is facilitated by the construction of an elevator attached to the west
abutment. The project also includes re-landscaping Port of Everett property and a portion of
Grand Avenue Park to accommodate the bridge landings and access. The contractor shall
coordinate with BNSF regarding track closures, the City of Everett regarding SR529 (West
Marine View Drive) lane closures and potential Grand Ave Park restrictions, and Snohomish
County Public Utility Department for transmission power line, communication line, and
distribution line locations, potential conflicts, and other concerns which could impact
construction method and or construction schedule. The high-level PUD transmission lines
will be raised by others prior to bridge construction to ensure minimum clearance
requirements between the transmission lines and the permanent bridge location is achieved.
In addition, the power poles will be relocated approximately as follows: 57 feet and 47 feet
from the south truss and the north truss, respectively. The lower distribution and
communication lines will be relocated underground prior to bridge construction by others.
The Contractor will need to communicate directly with PUD regarding buried locations of
these lines.
